Beach Paradise


Supplies Needed

Font of choice – I used Pictorial Signature here

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste Button 1 as a new layer.
Resize 85%
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
Selections/Modify/Contract by 10
Tap the delete key.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the circle.
Copy and paste Paper 12 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Highlight the frame layer.
Give it a drop shade.
Merge Down.

Copy and paste Button 1 again as a new layer.
Resize 75%.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
Selections/Modify/Contract by 10.
Tap the delete key.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 8 Into Selection.
Copy and paste BearFriends as a new layer below the circle frame.
Resize 15%
Move into position – see my tag for reference.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Copy and paste Sun 1 as a new layer.
Resize 5%
Move into position – see my tag for reference.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Close out the merged layer and white background layer.
Merge Visible.
Reopen all layers.
You can move both into better position later on.

Open up Papers 7 and 9.
In your color pallet change the foreground to Pattern and look for Paper 7.
Angle: 0
Scale: 25%
OK

Make your Ellipse Tool active set on Rectangle.
Create a rectangle approximately 400 px x 375 px.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Move into position – see my tag for reference.

In your color pallet change the pattern to Paper 9.
Create a rectangle approximately 225 px x 300 px
Give it the same Inner Bevel.
Duplicate.
Move both rectangles into position – see my tag for reference.

Copy and paste Flower Border 1 as a new layer.
Resize 10%
Move it into position below the left edge of the top left yellow rectangle you just created – see my tag for reference.
Duplicate
Free Rotate Right 90 degrees – move into position behind the top of the rectangle, joining them at the corner – see my tag for reference.
Merge Visible both flower borders.
Make your Selection Tool active set on rectangle, mode set to Add (Shift).
Section off each of the flower border that overhangs the rectangle.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Duplicate the merged flower border layer.
Mirror/Flip
Move into position behind the lower rectangle.

Add your elements.  I used:
Flower 1:  Resize 15%/Duplicate/Mirror
Leaf 3:  Resize 13%/Duplicate/Mirror
Tree 1:  Resize 15%
Bow 4:  Resize 13%
Button Starfish 1:  Resize 15%
Firefly1:  Resize 10%
Beach Ball:  Resize 12%
Bird 1:  Resize 15%/Mirror
Button Fish 1:  Resize 15% and 50%/Duplicate/Mirror
Beach Sign:  Resize 13%
Turtle:  Resize 5%
Scatter:  Resize 20%
Shell 3:  Resize 3%
Shell 2:  Resize 2%/Mirror

Copy and paste Beach Ball element as a new layer just above the white background.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Duplicate
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and Paste Paper 6 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name:
Color pallet:
Foreground and Background: #7d4b35
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Magic Happens


Supplies Needed

1 tube of choice – I used the wonderful artwork of Jane Starr Weils which can be purchased from Digital Art Heaven.

Font of choice – I used Afecta here

My template 153 here

Vix mask 451 here

Brush Strokes – Crosshatch
Greg’s Factory Output Vol. II – Pool Shadow

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Delete the top 5 layers.
Highlight the Raster 1 (the white background)
Images/Canvas Size:
700 x 700
OK
Flood fill white.
Highlight Raster 2 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 19 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Apply to the paper Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Use default Settings.
OK
Duplicate the layer and change the Properties to Multiply.

Highlight Raster 3 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 13 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the same Crosshatch effect.
Delete the template layer.

Copy and paste Element 64 as a new layer.
Resize 3%
Duplicate 2 times for a total of 3 elements.
Move them into position over Raster 4 template layer.
Duplicate all 3 elements and move them into position over Raster 5 template layer.
Deselect template layers 4 & 5.
Highlight Raster 6 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Copy and paste Paper 17 as a new layer.
Move into position so that only the black sky is over the selected area.
In your layers pallet right click on the paper.
Choose “Promote Section to layer” from the sub menu.
Deselect.
Delete the original paper layer.
To each paper layer apply the brush strokes effect.

Copy and paste Element 4 as a new layer.
Resize 55%
Duplicate
Move each from over Raster templates 7 and 8.
Delete both template layers.

To the bottom frame:
Make your Selection Tool active set on Point to Point.
Section around the frame keeping the dotted line pretty much in the middle of the bones.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 17 Into Selection.
Deselect.
To the top frame.
Using your Selection tool, section around this frame just as you did the bottom frame.
Paste Paper 17 as a new layer below the frame.
Resize the paper 70%
Move the paper so just the black sky is below the frame.
Promote this section to Layer.
Delete the original paper.
Copy and paste Element 30 as a new layer just below the frame.
Resize 40% and move into position – see my tag for reference.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
If you’re using the same one as I did, copy and paste, resize the Witch & Frogs tube layer 50%
Highlight the Frogs layer.
Use your Selection Tool set on Rectangle and section off the right 3 frogs.
Paste as a new layer on your working canvas along the top frame and resize 35%.  Use your Eraser Tool to erase the stone if you happened to copy that, too.
Copy the left 3 frogs of the tube.
Paste as a new layer on your working canvas along the bottom frame and resize 35%.  Again, if you copied the stones as well, use your Eraser Tool and erase them.

Make your Selection Tool active set on Freehand.
Section out an area like so:


Control + H – Feather Selection Box will open.
Feather amount: 30
OK
New Raster layer just above the white background layer.
Copy and paste Paper 19 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Duplicate and change the Properties to Multiply.
Add your elements.  I used:
El 14: Duplicate/Mirror
El 16:  Resize 60%
El 40: Duplicate
El 54:  Resize 45%/Change the Properties to Difference 
El 19:  Resize 40%/Duplicate
El 8:  Resize 30%/Mirror
El 32:  Resize 50%/Duplicate/Resize 50%/Duplicate/Resize 50%
El 10
El 37:  Resize 40%
El 61:  Resize 50%/Duplicate
El 47:  Resize 35%
El 11:  Resize 40%
Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 20 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Merge Group.
New Raster layer above the merged mask layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 22 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Change the Properties of this mask layer to Hard Light.
Lower the Opacity to 85.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #040404
Background: #992f66

Make your Text Tool active.
Set the stroke width to .50
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:
Copy and paste as a new layer el 12.
Resize as you want and use to decorate your name.

Close out your white background.
Save your tag as a PNG.

My Besties Halloween 2


Supplies Needed

Plug Ins used:
Greg’s Factory Output Vol II – Pool Shadow
Brush Strokes – Crosshatch and Sprayed Strokes

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Highlight the background layer.
Image/Canvas Size:
700 x 700 ok
Flood fill white.
Delete the top 2 layers.

Highlight 1.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Open up Paper 2.
Use your Selection Tool set on Rectangle and section out a green area of your choosing.
Copy.
Make your working canvas active.
Paste Into Selection.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Overlay Into Selection.
Change the Properties to Burn.
Copy and paste Haunted House as a new layer above the Overlay.
Resize 20%
Move into position over the Overaly – see my tag for reference.
In your layers pallet, right click your mouse on it.
Choose “Promote Section to Layer”.
Delete the original house element layer.
Deselect.

Make you Selection Tool active set on Rectangle.
Section out the entire house element of the promoted layer.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Note:  The reason for doing this is because the element is so large, when you put a drop shadow on it you’ll have a shadow on the edge of your tag as well.  This step is just to get rid of the overhang that you can’t see. 

Highlight 2.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Make Paper 2 active and using your Selection Tool section out a dark area of the paper.
Copy
Make your working canvas active.
Paste Into Selection.
Copy and paste Spider Web as a new layer over the paper.
Resize 25%
Move into a position you like.
Right click on it in your layers pallet and choose “Promote Section to Layer” from the submenu.
Change the Properties to Luminance (Legacy).
Delete the original spider web.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight 3.
Repeat the above step accept omit the spider web.

Highlight 4.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Make Paper 2 active (and deselect the dark area that you just copied)
Copy.
Make your working canvas active.
Paste Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
To the paper apply Brush Strokes – Sprayed Strokes 2x’s:
Stroke length: 18
Spray Radius: 13
OK
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Stroke Length: 41
Sharpness: 6
Strength: 1
OK

Highlight 5.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with #0b1e2f
Apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol. II – Pool Shadow:
Use default settings accept change the Intensity to 180.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Change the Properties to Soft Light.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer under the flood fill layer.
Flood fill with #f1ab23.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Gaussian and Monochrome checked
Noise: 63%
OK
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight 6.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Make Paper 2 active.
Use your Selection Tool and section out an area of the green paper.
Make your working canvas active.
Paste Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
DO NOT give the paper layer a drop shadow yet.

Highlight 7.
Repeat the above step.
Merge Down so both green squares are now on one layer.
Copy and paste Witch 1 as a new layer over the merged paper layer.
Resize 18%
Move into position – see my tag for reference.
Right click on the witch in the layers pallet and choose “Promote Section to Layer” from the submenu.
Delete the original witch layer.
Change the Properties of the promoted layer to Soft Light.

Highlight 9.
Merge Down.
Layers 9 and 10 should now be on the same layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with #0a141d.
Apply the same Noise effect.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Add your elements.  I used:
Spider 2:  Resize 5% and 80%/Duplicate 3x’s
Pumpkin 2:  Resize 10%/Duplicate/Resize 75%
Pumpkin 1:  Resize 10% and 60%
Witch 1:  Resize 15%

Highlight the white background.
Select All.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Flip
Apply the mask.
Resize 110% 2x’s


Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground and Background: #000000

Type your name.
Convert to Raster layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Selections/Modify/Contract by 2.
Flood fill with #a53794
Apply the same noise effect.
Deselect.

Color Pallet:
Foreground: #8cc63f
Make your Target Tool active and barely bump it along the bottom of your name to give it a hint of green color.

Close out your white background.
Save your tag as a PNG.
